1. Why should I choose Active Life Project?

We at Active Life Project have a unique perspective on health and wellness. We are very detail oriented and excellent at diagnosing the problem and formulating a plan to attack it.

We employ a neurofunctional correction strategy that looks for the root cause of pain and dysfunction. We understand that every person and problem is unique, and we treat them as such. We recognize that there is misinformation and confusing chatter all over the internet and social circles that cause people to be confused about what is wrong and what should be done.

We make certain to help to educate and inform each client about the best course of action for them, even if it means going to a different health provider. We treat each and every client as we would treat our own family. And we really love our family!

2. What makes you different from a typical chiropractor?

We love the chiropractic profession, but we don’t operate as a typical chiropractic clinic. We consider ourselves specialists at finding solutions for injuries, chronic pain and performance enhancement.

We are the only clinic in the area that focuses on a neurofunctional correction approach.

We spend the time and energy with each person to understand their specific goals and how to best attack the issue at hand. We focus on how to improve movement skills and improve the brain’s awareness of the body, and we integrate many different treatment styles to accomplish those goals.

3. I have always had concerns about the “cracking” of neck and back by chiropractors. Should I expect that as a treatment in the office?

Spinal manipulative therapy is a very common treatment by most everyone in the chiropractic profession. It has proven to be safe and effective. The typical “cracking” is not something you should expect as a staple treatment in our office. If it is something you have questions about, our neurofunctional correction approach can easily utilize many other effective ways to accomplish our objectives.

4. I have heard once you go to a chiropractor, you need to go for the rest of your life. Is that true?

Absolutely not in our office!

Our objective is to get you to your goals and out of our office as soon as possible. Many of our clients choose to continue care because they see value in our services or have lifestyles that require them to be diligent about caring for their bodies. But you will never feel that pressure from our doctors.

5. I tried PT (or fill in the blank therapy) but it didn’t help. Why should I try you instead?

Our unique neurofunctional correction approach and philosophy have helped countless folks who have been to “everyone under the sun.” We choose not to ascribe to cookie cutter treatment protocols, and therefore find areas of improvement that many other people may miss. Instead I would say, if you have seen other practitioners without any luck, this is precisely the place for you.

6. I just booked an initial visit. What should I expect next?

Yay! We can’t wait to meet you. After you book your first appointment, you should expect a welcome email that includes an intake form. The form generally takes about 10 minutes to complete, and it gives us important information about your health history and your goals for the future.

7. What should I expect for our initial consult?

1. On the day of your visit, we will spend an hour together. We will start by continuing your health history in person. Everyone is so very unique and a detailed health history can reveal so much. This is so very important and a step many skip. Your biography is your biology.

2.  We will then move to a detailed movement assessment. Our doctors are trained to understand and interpret movement asymmetries and limitations. We can use that information to begin to put together a clear picture of understanding and give us a better idea of where to begin.

3. We will follow up the movement assessment with a series of muscle tests that help us to narrow down further our diagnosis and treatment plan.

4. Now is when we determine the best course of care with our neurofunctional correction approach and discuss it with you.

5. The magic happens! Usually the first order of business is to address any potential fires, and address any obvious stability concerns. We always get to work and begin treatment on the first visit.

8. What should I expect for each additional visit?

After the initial visit, we will begin with questions pertaining to your main complaint and then get right into treatment. You can always expect a movement assessment, muscle tests and our neurofunctional correction treatment protocol on follow up visits. Each follow up visit will last 20-30 minutes.

9. I am not sure I’m ready to schedule an initial consult, what should I do?

Totally understandable! We have two good options for you.

1. Use the form below (at the bottom of this page) to contact us with your contact info and a doctor will get back to you to answer any questions within 1 business day.

2. Schedule a 15 minute discovery session with one of our doctors. In this session we have an abbreviated initial consult where you get to test drive the process and see if it is right for you. The discovery session is no cost, but additionally, no treatment is provided. The doctor will provide you with an understanding of what can be done and what to expect going forward. We can both use the discovery session as a no risk option to see if we are a good fit together.
