Active Life Project Approach

We have been conditioned over time to equate pain with actual, physical tissue damage. At Active Life Project, we have come to learn that this doesn’t always have to be true.

It is especially evident when we have pain that didn’t happen after a minor trauma like a fall or similar accident. Pain is a conclusion made by the brain with considerations from many contributing factors, not just tissue damage.

At Active Life Project, we utilize an innovative neurofunctional correction technique that gets to the root cause of pain and dysfunction.

We help to manage the conservative treatment of acute injuries, chronic pain, and performance plateaus.

the process

01.

Health History

First, we’ll evaluate your current health history and activity levels through a short health history questionnaire. On the day of your visit, we will spend an hour together. We will start by continuing your health history in-person. Everyone is so very unique and a detailed health history can reveal so much. This is so very important and a step many skip. Your biography is your biology.

02.

Assessment

We will then move to a detailed movement assessment. Our doctors are trained to understand and interpret movement asymmetries and limitations. We can use that information to begin to put together a clear picture of understanding and give us a better idea of where to begin. We will follow up the movement assessment with a series of muscle tests that help us to narrow down further our diagnosis and treatment plan.

03.

Strategy

Now is when we determine the best course of care with our neurofunctional correction approach and discuss it with you. Our process involves initially putting out fires to stabilize and desensitize the problem area(s) with some combination of manual therapy, neurorehab and pain education. We always get to work and begin treatment on the first visit.

04.

Treatment & follow up

The magic happens! We’ll schedule follow up assessments, specifically tailored for you. During follow up visits, we’ll challenge the system to both reinforce the strategy as well as expose any potential weaknesses in the kinetic chain. We then aim to bulletproof the system with exercise and activity to reduce the chances of recurrence.

SoftWave Therapy is unique in that it can induce a healing response and tissue regeneration without having to damage the tissue first.

reviews

“Drs. Kelli and David are two of the most thorough, compassionate, and precise people I know.”

During our education I often looked upon them for tips and advice, in the professional and personal world that is still the case. If I ever feel I need a second opinion or a different perspective on a patients care they are the first I approach.

I cannot speak highly enough of them. When I seek care for myself I only trust them, they have worked on me a multitude of times with fast results.

One of their strongest qualities is that they are passionate and understanding. They give practical advice that is geared towards a specific goal in mind.

Their patients are in terrific hands.
